Esteban Ordano

Esteban Ordano is an Argentine software engineer with a strong background in distributed systems and blockchain technology. Before co-founding Decentraland, he worked on various cryptocurrency and decentralised projects, gaining expertise in Ethereum development and smart contract architecture. His technical foundation enabled him to approach the challenge of creating a fully decentralised virtual world with a focus on scalability, user sovereignty, and interoperability.

Ordano's vision aligned with broader movements in the cryptocurrency community toward decentralisation and user ownership. Rather than building a traditional centralised gaming platform or metaverse, he recognised the potential for blockchain technology to enable true ownership of virtual assets and land.
