Humayun Sheikh

Humayun Sheikh is a Pakistani entrepreneur with a background in engineering and business education. He studied at NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, one of Pakistan's premier engineering institutions, before pursuing further education at Cambridge Judge Business School. His early career was shaped by an interest in emerging technologies and their potential to solve complex economic and organisational problems.

Sheikh's professional journey spans multiple ventures before establishing Fetch.ai. His experience in technology entrepreneurship and business development informed his vision for creating infrastructure in the decentralised technology space. He observed the growing importance of artificial intelligence and recognised an opportunity to build systems that could distribute AI capabilities across autonomous agents rather than concentrating them in centralised platforms.

Humayun Sheikh founded Fetch.ai with the core mission of creating a decentralised network where autonomous agents could interact, negotiate, and transact with minimal human intervention. The platform combines blockchain technology with artificial intelligence to enable machines to perform economic tasks autonomously. Fetch.ai's architecture allows various autonomous agents to discover each other, communicate, and execute smart contracts on a shared ledger, creating what Sheikh termed an 'autonomous economic network'.
